We are thrilled to have KARE11 Morning News Anchor, Jason Hackett as our emcee for the evening!

Jason Hackett brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm as the KARE 11 Sunrise anchor after spending more than four years as a morning anchor in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Originally from Miami Gardens, Florida, Jason’s journey in journalism has taken him across the country, from Florida to Iowa, and now to the Twin Cities.

A proud University of Florida alum, Jason’s passion for storytelling has been a driving force throughout his career. From his humble beginnings as a cashier at Chuck E. Cheese’s to his role as a respected morning anchor, Jason’s journey is a testament to hard work and determination.

Jason’s love for quality journalism led him to KARE 11, where he’s excited to be a part of a team that values integrity and excellence. As a first-generation college student and the son of Jamaican immigrants, Jason’s background adds depth and perspective to his reporting.

Outside of the newsroom, Jason is a devoted WWE and Miami Dolphins fan, with a soft spot for all things Marvel. When he’s not chasing stories or cheering on his favorite teams, you can find him hitting the gym or indulging in warm chocolate chip cookies.

As our most significant fundraising event, the Booyah Bash is crucial in supporting our mission to support students on their journey to college by fostering a community of mutual learning with the next generation of educators so they both can collaborate, grow, and thrive.
