Fang Zhou joins the Breakthrough Twin Cities Board in 2024.  BTC’s mission of supporting both students on their journey to college and the next generation of educators is near and dear to Fang’s passion.  This is because Fang herself comes from a family of teachers, who in turn have helped many students advance through life. Fang is thrilled to be part of the BTC team to foster an inclusive mutual learning ecosystem, where everyone has an opportunity to thrive and grow.

Fang’s career has led her to the role of Laboratory Director at 3M, a company with core values that include integrity, respect for others, innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. Combining technical expertise, strategic vision, Leadership and project management skills, Fang leads a team of talented engineers and scientists to develop cutting-edge technologies, and to commercialize novel products across numerous existing and emerging markets.  She is an inspiring advocate for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Fang is a proud mother of two daughters.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, visiting national parks, hiking and exploring the beauty of Minnesota nature, and trying vegetarian friendly restaurants.
