Micah’s first introduction to Breakthrough Twin Cities was in the summer of 2024 as a Teaching Fellow—teaching Literature to 8th-grade students. Following an impactful initial summer, he returned as a staff member for the summers of 2025 and 2026. He is now excited to serve the Breakthrough community full-time!

Micah’s passion for college readiness programs began as a 6-year AVID student throughout middle and high school. He has since worked with Teach For America, AVID, Uncommon Schools, and, most recently, Breakthrough Twin Cities. Micah graduated from Goldey-Beacom College in 2024, earning a Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Literary Studies. As an undergraduate student, Micah further developed his interest in different pathways to higher education while he was competing as a Division II athlete (cross-country/track & field), serving as the president of the Black Student Union, and working as a resident assistant. Through these experiences, he gained a strong affinity toward community building and youth work. Micah looks forward to using his background with college readiness and youth programming to further support Breakthrough’s mission.

He is currently working on his Master’s degree in English; however, during his free time, Micah enjoys street photography, creating short films, writing prose, listening to music, and running.
