DARARTU DOTO
Darartu Doto is a Pomona College graduate with a degree in Economics. She began her career in media, spending four years in advertising at Meta. Motivated by a deep commitment to social impact, Darartu founded Bilisummaa, a nonprofit dedicated to ending period poverty. Through health education and hygiene product distribution, Bilisummaa has transformed lives in Ethiopia and expanded its mission to Minnesota.
As a Breakthrough student and teacher alum, Darartu is passionate about educational access and equity. She is honored to contribute to an organization that has profoundly shaped her journey and is excited to give back to the Breakthrough community that gave so much to her.
In her free time, Darartu enjoys reading, taking long walks, and spending quality time with her siblings.
