Amanda has worked in the nonprofit sector for 10 years, with the majority of time spent working and volunteering in youth-serving organizations. Her experience ranges from development and grants management to events and human resources. Prior to this, she worked in the health care field in administrative roles and care coordination. An alumna of the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with a degree in Communication Studies, Amanda had the opportunity to study abroad in Cape Town, South Africa with a focus on the effects of apartheid and social justice initiatives.

More recently, Amanda completed her certification in Yoga Teacher training and currently teaches at a local studio and through Minneapolis Community Education. She appreciates the opportunity to bring her skills and experience in nonprofit work, along with her passion for closing the youth opportunity gap, to her role at Breakthrough Twin Cities. Outside of her time at Breakthrough, you’ll find Amanda teaching, running, cooking, hanging with her husband and dog at the lake, and singing karaoke.
